About us

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is proven to be a highly effective and efficient method of self defense. At Shadow BJJ Studio we provide a world class curriculum from the 12X world champion team. We teach a wide range of ages from the age of 4 to 60+ and of people with all unique abilities. We see each student as an individual and offer a complete program that includes fitness, self defense, technical drills, live sparring and specific training for competitions.

HEAD INSTRUCTOR,

Shadow BJJ Head Instructor Professor Calvin Nguyen Certified Instructor Professor Calvin earned his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under World Champ 2nd degree Black Belt, Professor Raul Jimenez. He has always had a passion for martial arts with 12+ years of teaching, training, and competing in BJJ. After graduating from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance and becoming an Aviation Technician, he decided to dedicate himself to spreading the art and sharing his knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. Throughout his journey, Professor Calvin has had the opportunity to share the mat with many high level practitioners. During his experiences, he’s created an effective and systematic approach to learning Jiu Jitsu.
